Terry McCrann produced a lol in his Herald Sun column today when dissecting the government’s appalling lack of “truth” concerning mining company tax rates. In fact the whole article is worth a read to get an understanding of the gymnastics that is going on in the sell of the preposterous RSPT. But for now let’s just admire the amusingness of a typical McCrannism!

So they are using a financial construct – actual tax paid – as the numerator: the apple; dividing it by a theoretical economic construct – GOS – as the denominator: the orange; to produce the average tax rate (ATR): the lemon.

Well I thought it was hilarious . . .
